Twins, every newborn photographers dream, and nightmare rolled into two adorable packages! This particular set of baby girls was such a blessing to their surprised parents, and to me. I was actively seeking multiples to full fill a personal challenge and improve my skill in photographing more than one baby. When working with twins its literally double the potty accidents, double and possibility of making one baby mad while posing, and double the opportunity for a gorgeous image! I was so excited to get to work with these little girls, especially when mom told me she wanted a purple session. Its like she read my mind, purple is my color. When I take stock of what I have on hand its always more purple than anything els. So when I planned this session I pulled all my purples shades, and using some adorable tie backs from Positively Whimsy. I created this adorable session for these darling girls. As usual I started the girls on the floor with baskets and furs. On the outset one of the girls was cranky and out of sorts, after some swaddling and snuggling she settled long enough to get a few shots. Mom and dad kept telling me she was the cranky one. When we transitioned to the bean bag, it was as if the girls had a personality switch and sister was cranky and fussy, while the formerly fussy baby snoozed like a champ! It was hilarious how quickly and seamlessly they traded. This session may be one of my most favorite, ever. The images are soft, and still powerful. The overall styling speaks clearly of my aesthetic, and the posing and lighting are just spot on for the look I love. My job is such a blessing and working with all my families, and their babies makes me fall in love with it nearly every day all over again. I spent so many years of my life having, nursing, and raising little bitty babies, and now that all my little ones are off to school, I miss those moments. It is so sweet to be able to snatch some baby snuggles, and little sweet moments in the studio. Double the snuggles with this session, and so much fun to play with all my purples. Here are my favorite outtakes from this one, enjoy...
