Every once in a while I am asked to do a session that is outside my scope or norm. I usually find these to be a great challenge and enjoy them immensely. Its always fun to stretch your creative wings so to speak.
These sessions are even more fun when you get to plan them with a good friend and her daughter. So when my friend asked me to do a glamour session for her daughter and a friend I jumped on it. Unlike my senior sessions this would involve the styling, hair and makeup, and posing of two people. The biggest stretch was to keep these young ladies looking their ages, and not year older. The day of the session was great fun, we did the girls hair and makeup, it was reminiscent of a junior high slumber party with conversations being held over music, girls busting out lyrics to songs and some random dance moves. Not to mention the hair spray! After the primping was over we got them dressed in their looks for the session, jewelry was chosen and away we went. The biggest blessing for this shoot was the location, we had such a variety of vistas and scenes to choose from, a little creek bed, tall grass, open field, and a pool. I love having a lot of options in a relatively small space. We moved around from set to set, utilizing cushions as sun blocks, pool ladders for height, and just in general making things work for us. Ultimately the girls were brave enough to jump in the pool for some water shots, folks let me tell you it was not a super warm day! However they jumped right in and struck some poses. When it was said and done, I don't know that I have laughed so much, or enjoyed working with a group so much as this session. Good company makes all the world. As for the final product, I will let you decide for your self, but to me our good time, and relaxed atmosphere shows in their faces. We all had fun, Enjoy.
