One of the very best things about my job as a newborn photographer, is that I am one of the first people outside of family to see new babies. When friends have babies, this is extra special. I am so blessed to hold, snuggle and pray for these little people. One of my dear friends was blessed with her fifth little one this month, and I planned a great outdoor session for him during one of our play dates. I spied odds and ends from the children play area, and scoped out some unique landscapes to pose baby on, and in.
Luckily the day wasn't too warm, (Missouri in August is tricky) and we were able to pull off three different outdoor sets and then went inside for some of my staple, baby on a white blanket poses. Mr Joseph, used to the hustle and bustle of his brothers and sisters slept through his session like a professional baby model. He snoozed through all the wraps and re wraps, poses, and hats. Even when we came inside and stripped him down. Joey makes the cutest little grunts when he sleeps, and at first they were alarming because I thought he was waking up. His big brother would rush over and get momma's attention worried the baby needed something! It was adorable. My favorite shot from this session and my favorite set involved the sweetest little wooden wheelbarrow. It is a wonderful piece made by the kid's grandfather. How special is that! That is one of the perks of shooting in a clients home, seeing things they may not have noticed and using them for babies pictures. The wheelbarrow shot was so fun, Joey was so asleep he really just let me pose him and stayed put. He seemed very cosy all wrapped up and sporting his little bear hat! A little help from mom to support his head and then some photoshop magic (safety first) and viola one of my favorite pictures of all time! The session came to a screeching halt, when we moved indoors and I removed the diaper! We managed a few poses indoors and then when I went to wrap him and place him on his back, BAM! He peed on me! Woke up and that was that he was done. All in all it was so nice to visit with a good friend, meet her newest addition and play with a sweet little baby. Newborn sessions can be done in your home or in the studio. For more details please call or email! Here are my favorite pics from Josephs session, enjoy!
