We have officially finished our first round of unicorn special sessions! Little Mother Photography spent two Saturdays taking photographs in St. James. A total of 19 sessions were done! After shooting, Kandi spent the better part of two weeks editing the photos. Overall the results were magical and the experience was memorable. The sessions were booked weeks in advance. We started with only 1 day, but as the sessions were so popular, (and booked completely so quickly), we added a second! Everyone arrived early for their session, which made everything run smoothly, and allowed for maximum time for the children to pick out a perfect outfit, headpiece (if they wanted one), and get to know Snowflake before their session. One little girl brought her own sword and shield to do her own warrior poses! Many children were brave and confident enough to get up on Snowflake’s back, which resulted in some amazing images! Some families came as a group to take advantage of this opportunity; something that is encouraged for almost any of our sessions. People traveled as far as Springfield, and Ozark, Missouri to meet Snowflake! You may be surprised to learn that Snowflake is a deaf unicorn. Her mainly white coat and bright blue eyes, (with irises splashing into the pupil) are very common in deaf animals. Perhaps because of her hearing impairment Snowflake prefers to be in the company of other horses. Both days she had a friend accompany her to the photoshoot. All of our children (and parents) were very understanding and were good about not making any sudden movements and only walking in front of her. We can’t wait to do another special unicorn session next spring (2018). Please watch our Facebook page closely for this and other special events! Did you know that (according to the Andersonville Study of Retail Economics) buying local generates 70% more local economic activity per square foot as opposed to big box chain stores?
