In the process of planning and plotting a maternity session, there can be much communication, a lot of back and forth, and editing of plans.
Also, sometimes I get a little flustered, and have a lot of ideas floating around in my head. Many times, between the booking date, and the shooting date I have received new props, and wardrobe, thus causing me to shift my vision, and change my shooting plan. This session prep was a classic example of my work flow, the changes and updates, and the flustered moments. However the day of her session I had a solid plan and was excited to set it in motion. Come the day of the session, I find even though I have emailed, or spoke on the phone with my mommas, its still meeting a stranger. A stranger, who, more than likely I am about to see in some state of undress as we get them into wardrobe. Always an awkward moment for me, and usually her. Surprisingly this momma and I got on just fantastically. Despite all the changes and a few surprises I sprung on her last minute her session was great. We had a fantastic time, playing with the wardrobe, working with her little guy's comfort level, and creating an amazing gallery for her. This session was outstanding, and a great example of my new maternity vision. I love the simplicity of the set, and the stunning details of her gown and clothing pieces. This momma is such a beauty, and she really rocked her session. I wish I could have worked with her all day! Enjoy a few outtakes from her session, and keep your eyes open for pictures of her and her little lady! Meet Meyliah, the most recent Little Mothers Gifts of Grace recipient. Meyliah is super sassy, and a little shy. Loves to play with friends, and really enjoys playing with makeup!
Meyliah was diagnosed with Langherhan's Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) in December of last year. Her mom noticed swelling above her eye and after several doctor's visits was sent to Children's Oncology in St. Louis. After confirming the diagnosis Meyliah began treatment. She receives chemo therapy and other standard cancer treatments. LCH was considered a cancer by the ACA last year, and is considered a cancer of the immune system, because it can attack the body anywhere. Meyliah's is in the bones of her face. If you would like more information regarding LCH please go to this link. _ One of the best parts of Little Mothers Gifts of Grace sessions is the letting the kids select accessories for the shoot. Myeliah loves pink, like most little girls her age, and was all about pink for her session. It was adorable watching her make choices regarding her headband and wrap top. She was also a huge fan of the pink sparkly eye shadow! As always I am so grateful for the support for these sessions, if you know a child who would enjoy a Little Mothers Gifts of Grace session pleas contact me at mailto:littlemotherphotogrpahy@gmail.com Now, here are some outtakes from Meyliah's shoot! |
