This handsome little guy was the lone ranger in a sea of little ladies during the week of his session.
Seriously check out his darling little face, and those eyes!!! He is going to be a heart breaker! It was a refreshing, change of pace from the sea of purples, pinks, and flowers. I just love this new braid I pulled for this little guy, it reminds me of plaid, madras shorts. But it was a perfect complement to his coloring and that adorable little set of overalls. Also he curled up so sweet, and really loved his little nest. I just love those little crossed feet. His session was strongly influenced by his momma and daddy's service to our country. I just loved the traditional use of blue for a boy, incorporating the flag, and even daddy's boots and cap. ( don't worry all proper flag protocol was followed) I just love the eye contact of the flag image. Almost like he knew just how awesome this picture was going to be. And how sweet is this first family portrait? Such wonderful image of a young family. I remember those first days with our first little one. Sprinkled in between the sleepless nights, and other not so pleasant moments of the first week of parenthood. You know the ones, where you feel like you jumped into the middle of the ocean with no life jacket, and no swimming skills! Those sweet precious moments in the middle of all that, when you make eye contact with your spouse, and just feel the flood of love and joy at the new creation you two made. This picture reminds me of those moments. I seriously am so blessed to be able to do the work I do, it is just amazing. I am grateful daily to be able to be a small part of a new families first few days. It is such an awesome and fabulous time. Thank you to Luke's mom and dad for your service to our country, and good luck to you on your new journey as parents. Here are some outtakes from this session, enjoy!

Harper is 12 months old, and is diagnosed is Infantile Epilepsy. She had her first seizure when she was five hours old. Harper has over 200 seizures a week, and has spent most of her little life in and out of the hospital. Some of her seizures are visible, and some not. Her momma is amazing, she takes such sweet care of this little girl. It is an inspiration. Due to her condition, Harper, has limited hearing, and possibly vision loss. She is fed through a GI tube, and doesn’t have much control over her body. Harpers momma takes care of all of her needs, feeding, cuddling, dr visits, and so much more. I was so happy to be able to gift this family with a Little Mothers Gifts of Grace session. When you have child who doesn’t smile or respond it can be difficult to have portraits done. I learned that Harper enjoys being swaddled, so swaddle her I did! We wrapped her up and I utilized some newborn posing technique and angles to capture some gorgeous images of this little girl. To keep Harper comfortable I had momma near by the entire time, talking and soothing her. We kept her session short and sweet, utilizing two sets, and several different head bands/bonnets. Harpers portraits are so beautiful, she is truly a gorgeous little girl, with the biggest bluest eyes ever! Here are some of my favorites from the session. I am so excited to become an aunt again. It is so fantastic to see my kids and their cousin (s) growing up together. Honestly, I am taken back to my childhood days of laughing and playing with my own cousins at my grandparents homes. Something about it is so simple and awesome.
I was so excited to learn that my little sister was going to bless us with another baby! Even more so because this will be the first infant to join our family since I started this business! I get to photography my nephew guys! This is going to be so much fun! As the time for his arrival got closer, my sister and I made plans to do some maternity pictures for her and her family. It was really fun to show them my studio space and to get my niece to ham it up for the camera. She’s such an adorable kid with a huge personality I love to take her pictures! She did not disappoint! Full of her usual energy I snapped some fun candid shots of her beautiful family. Then we got to shoot some more editorial, and creative images of my sister alone. Using a gown sewn by my mom (gotta keep it in the family) we captures some of my favorite Maternity images to date. Simple, understated, all about momma and baby, and just breathtaking. Seriously you guys, my little sister is a knock out! I just can not wait to meet the little one she’s cooking in there! Here are a few outtakes from her session, enjoy! One of the services offered by Little Mother Photography, is in home newborn portraits. I bring the studio to you! No getting baby bundled up and out the door in the cold, or heat. No more struggling to get ready to leave with a new baby, and all the postpartum chaos. How awesome is that?!?!? It is such a simple process. We discuss details of your session over the phone or via email. Together we will design a session that suites your color preferences, and even incorporates items from around your home, making this session unique and special to your family. The best part, is that I travel outside the immediate area, meaning if you live in St. Louis, Jefferson City, Columbia, or even Springfield, you can take advantage of my services. Never leaving the comfort of home! In home sessions are also great for babies who don't sleep well in their car seats, little ones at risk for certain seasonal germs and bugs. Also when I come to you there is no finding ways to entertain other children in my studio, they will already have all the snacks, toys and tv shows they could want at home! When I work in your home I always try to set up near a window and take advantage of natural light, just in case of clouds, a dreary day, or just lack of a window I do bring my studio lighting with me. Using your couch and other furniture pieces, I will create a "set" and get to work. Per our conversations I will bring an assortment of colors, props, blankets, and wraps with me, together we will determine what is used in your session. I recently traveled for two in home sessions, they were so much fun, I just love meeting my clients in their homes, it really gives me an insight to their style, and helps me fashion the session to suite their tastes. For Nova, we utilized several items from around the house to create a unique shelf set for her little baby self. It is a great collaboration of my style, and mom and dads interests. One of my favorite images, of all times, is this one from Paisly's in home newborn session. Hands, such an integral part of our lives, the hands of parents, caring for their baby. Hands are some of my favorite subjects, and this image captures both mom and dads hands cradling their daughter.
