Little Mother Photography was live on location this week!
I was blessed to be welcomed into little Victoria’s home for these stunning shots! This hybrid of lifestyle and posed newborn session turned out amazing.
How proud (and gorgeous?!) are this new mother and father? It was such a joy to work in such a stunning nursery, lovely home, and beautiful family.
What could make this photoshoot even more perfect? Puppies! This pair seems to be adjusting to older sibling life quite comfortably.
Little Mother Photography is always happy to come to your home or shoot on location. When our clients are comfortable we are able to get the most amazing natural images. Interested in scheduling Little Mother Photography for a home lifestyle session? Contact us today!
Little Mother Photography is so excited to share our upcoming special sessions: Unicorns! This magical day will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 in St. James. We’re looking all over the globe to find the finest dresses, headpieces, crowns and accessories to make the event even more magical!
Little Mother Photography did our first unicorn sessions last year and they were such a huge success! Last summer we filled up two full days of sessions; families traveled as far as Springfield, and Ozark, Missouri to meet Snowflake! If we were unable to accommodate you last year this is your chance to meet and have a special photography session with Snowflake the Unicorn!
Snowflake is a magnificent and well behaved unicorn, and we’ve never had any issues with her. That being said: working with animals always presents its own challenges, risks, and concerns! Everyone participating in the unicorn session is asked to complete a waiver form, which Little Mother will email you (if we haven’t already!)
7 Tips for Magical Unicorn Photos!
Our special unicorn session includes access to our wardrobe and accessories, time with me (Snowflake), and 8 fully edited magical images with full sharing rights for $225. Additional children (or adults) in the photos are an additional $50 each (and include 2 bonus digital files). (Children under the age of 1 will need an adult in the photo with them, this does NOT cost extra).
Only a few spots remain. Contact us to book your session today! firstname.lastname@example.org.
Happy Monday! I’ve been so wonderfully busy and am excited to share some images from last week with you! This BEAUTIFUL little girl in purple is Jolene from Rolla.
Not only was Jolene was an absolute doll and delightful to work with, but her siblings were too! Check out these cuties. They are so proud of their little baby sister.
Little Mother Photography shops the globe to find the BEST accessories for our photoshoots. We really are a one-stop shop for outfits, accessories, headbands, hats, blankets, wraps. For Jolene’s photos the bonnet was from Riley’s Mom Makes Hats, the tie backs were purchased from The Dainty Miss, the fabrics she is laying on are from Freebird Props, and the gorgeous lace is from Namiko.
I just can't get enough of this precious little girl! Check out more images from her gallery below.
We’ve been having some fun! Check out these great images.
I felt honored to be invited into Victoria's home for her newborn session; what a beautiful little girl! Her skin just glowed in that marigold wrap on the orchid blanket.
And this couple? Amazing. It was a delight to work with them. We traveled to Dixon to capture some great images. These two managed to look cozy and warm on a chilly January day!
I had so much fun with Lainey during her puppy smash cake. She loves puppies, and we were able to get her smash cake custom made into a puppy. Lainey has been with Little Mother Photography for the past year, and I’ve loved getting to know her family and seeing her grow. Our baby to birthdays are always bittersweet when they conclude.
Newborns, couples, and first year smash cakes, Little Mother has you covered.
It’s been a busy week! Some of the highlights include some fresh milk bath images. Milk baths create beautiful, relaxing images; perfect for maternity or nursing mothers.
Little Mother photography is proud to offer the only milk bath studio in the area. Natasha visited us from Vichy, Missouri. She looked absolutely stunning in the red lace gown and long blonde locks.
We take care of supplying wardrobe and have numerous beautiful gowns in different colors, styles, and sizes to choose from. We also provide fresh, seasonal flowers. Interested in scheduling your milk bath session with Little Mother Photography? Keep in mind that the best time for maternity images are between 30-35 weeks.

As we approach 2018, Little Mother Photography would love to take this opportunity to reflect on the past year. We are so grateful to our clients, new and returning, for helping this be the most successful year we’ve ever had. 2017 was an exciting year of growth and many accomplishments, most notable of which may very well been selected as the 2017 Best Photographer in Phelps County by the Rolla Daily News! This award couldn’t have been possible without the support (and votes) of our wonderful clients. Thank you to everyone who voted for us! Little Mother Photography has grown, moved into a new (larger) studio, photographed more sessions than ever, and even embarked on a new adventure: web design!
A Larger Studio (& Milk Bath)
In July we moved from our original studio to a larger one at 1007 Hauck Drive. We celebrated the move and growth with a wonderful ribbon cutting ceremony with the Rolla Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to moving studio location we added a milk bath studio, the only one in the area. Check out these beautiful milk bath images we captured in 2017.
More Sessions Than Ever
2017 was the busiest year for Little Mother Photography to date. Between births, newborns, families, events, milestones, and special sessions we’ve had our work cut out! In the month of October alone we were on call for 3 births in the greater Phelps, Dent and Polaski counties.

In 2017 Little Mother Photography rolled out it's unique approach to webdesign and photography services for local businesses. Our first (of many) websites, Sybill's Restaurant and Gift Shop is now live. We look forward to continuing to maintain Sybill's site, as well as continue to build new ones.

Little Mother Photography is proud to announce we have been awarded “Best Photographer in Phelps County” by the Rolla Daily News! This is a huge honor, and we are so grateful to everyone who voted.
We hope to continue to uphold our reputation of being the best photographer in Rolla, and Phelps County. Thank you for your votes, your support, and of course for trusting us to capture those timeless moments.
There are countless benefits to hanging your family portraits on your walls. Not only do they look amazing, add beautiful decor to your home, act as a great conversational piece, but they can benefit your family psychologically as well. When asked about the possible benefits of displaying family portraits Dr. Nicholas Bergeron (PhD in developmental psychology) stated "Displaying family photographs can lead to increased children's self- awareness and the social support shown within the photograph can enhance children's self-esteem."
Little Mother Photography offers full service printing through the nation’s best professional photo labs. We have access to professional photo labs, ones that individual consumers don’t. These high quality photo labs make all the difference when preserving your timeless moments. If you’re choosing to go with a high quality photographer to capture your moments why would you choose anything but the best to print and display them?
Countless other bloggers have posted comparisons showing the difference in quality from a professional photo lab vs Walmart, Walgreens, Shutterfly, Snapfish, etc.. So rather than re-invent the wheel we have compiled information and pictures from some of our favorite blog posts for you to compare below. We though this original approach would show the full spectrum of what you could get if you use one of these consumer photo labs. Quality and product varies greatly by time, location and other factors. By showing a collection of different images printed at different consumer labs (and also compared to the original image or what the photographer got at a professional lab) you, a Little Mother Photography customer, would have the most knowledge to make an informed decision regarding how to preserve your memories forever.
It should go without saying that the images that follow are NOT Little Mother Photography's. Credit and links is given for the images below.
This first round of photos is from Beck Impressions Photography's blog. Take note on the dark, (terrible?) coloring in the Walmart prints. The Walgreens prints look way too saturated, and Costco and Target don't look much better!
This second round of photos is from Amanda Jackson Photography's blog. Walgreens looks like the worst of this bunch, but the other 3 aren't far behind! Too dark, saturated, and the coloring is all sorts of awful.
The third group of images are from P&W Photography's blog. At first glance the prints don't look as bad as some of the images we've already seen. However, a closer inspection will show poor color matching, high saturation, and overexposure in many of them.
And this fourth and final group of images is from DeWitz Photography 's blog. In both of these examples Walmart photos came out underexposed and over saturated; the Walgreen prints came out way overexposed.
The takeaway: when printing nothing compares to the quality of a professionally printed photo. Little Mother Photography will help you to get the best prints with a variety of unique products (prints, canvases, mounted photos, albums and more). We offer a quality guarantee, and do all of the hard work for you. We assist in choosing sizes and medium, and we're available to help you hang it.
Wall art is timeless, beautiful, and a great way to decorate your home. When preserving your family's memories for generations to come you should consider the best.
