Some days in this business are more difficult than others. Be it, conflicting schedules, struggling to come up with a concept, mastering my camera, lighting, moving target scenario. There are just days that don't want to come together.
The day of this session, I woke up with my neck locked. Translate that into a lot of pain, limited mobility, and a crabby mood. I didn't however let it get me down, I powered on and set up a sweet session for one of my favorite little ladies.
Then it happened, the one thing her mom and I were both certain would never happen with this baby. She didn't like her cake!!!! Oh the horrors! We both so wanted to get shots of her messy and covered in sweet sticky blue frosting. Poor baby would not even go near her cake, one look at it and she was in tears. It was the icing on the cake of my day.
In a last ditch effort to replace the tears with smiles at least near the cake, we pulled out some music. Magic happened, at least sort of. While we didn't get any pictures of little Miss destroying her cake, we did get some great shots of her kinda beside and behind her cake holding her mommas phone and getting her jam on.
Personally I love it, these sessions never go as planned, babies are people with likes and dislikes, and when they take a turn we just roll with it. Embry was happy as a clam listening to her music, and it is who she is. No holds barred the kid doesn't like cake!
Her session was really great, she smiled, posed and put up with three outfit changes! I love the finished products and know her momma does too.
Here are a few of my favorites! Enjoy!
